From the beginning of Skycure, Yair (my co-founder) and I have put a focus on building strong partnerships so that we can reach more customers and protect more devices in less time than we could do on our own. We saw the great momentum of the leading MDM vendors and targeted them first for partnerships, as there is great synergy between mobile enablement and mobile security. Not only have we been fortunate to partner with all of the leading EMM/MDM vendors, but through this success we have also managed to attract key leaders and influencers from each one (VMware AirWatch, MobileIron and Citrix XenMobile) onto our board of directors.
Following our success with EMM partners, we started looking for ways to expand our reach as much as possible, and identified AT&T as the reseller that probably sold more mobility solutions to businesses than anyone else in North America. We knew AT&T would be a partner who both understood the challenges of mobility in business (moving many licenses of MobileIron and AirWatch over the last few years), and has the customer base to make a significant impact on the mobile security of this community.
It makes me very happy to announce that AT&T will now resell Skycure to protect the personal and business data on the millions of devices of AT&T business customers. Although EMM has become a standard solution to address the challenge of enabling productive use of mobile devices in business settings, most existing solutions lack the granular visibility and security required to actively detect and prevent attacks at the app, network and device level. Skycure’s mobile threat defense solution closes that gap by providing a holistic, layered mobile threat defense solution that works alongside and complements existing mobility systems like EMM and SIEM.
With the help of Skycure, AT&T now offers comprehensive, layered security for businesses that need to protect employee and customer data, and all of the business systems the device may connect to. Consider the statistical risk data from a recent report on BYOD, showing:
- 1 in 5 organizations have suffered a mobile security breach, primarily through malware and WiFi
- 24% of organizations confirmed their mobile devices have connected to malicious WiFi
- 48% of organizations were unsure if there have been mobile security incidents
That last one is pretty scary and points to the biggest problem addressed by Skycure – lack of visibility into the real threats and attacks on mobile devices. Other recent reports show at least one device in every large organization infected with malware, and one-third of executives experiencing network attacks. AT&T’s customers clearly need a strong defense system to combat these mobile threats.
Jason Porter, Vice President of Security Solutions at AT&T said “Our customers are looking for solutions to detect active threats on mobile devices whether it’s malware, network threats, or application vulnerability exploits. With the help of our Foundry, we found Skycure, a proven innovator in this space. We are excited to team with them to offer customers the tools to effectively manage and better secure their mobile devices.”
AT&T business customers can buy the Skycure mobile threat defense solution on its own, or fully integrated with AirWatch or MobileIron EMM solutions for comprehensive enterprise mobile enablement and security. I am also offering a free mobile risk assessment for all AT&T customers.
